Why do you run?

Running always seems to give me what I need.  It can be invigorating, relaxing, thought provoking, humbling, empowering, social, challenging, and especially fun.

Describe your best marathon memory.

USAF Marathon 2012 – setting a PR just before my 49th birthday and feeling like I could keep running for many more miles!

Why do you pace?

To share my love of running and the thrill of completing a race.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Helping someone who had recently overcome several personal challenges through the last ten miles of a half marathon.  At the finish he thanked me for pacing him.  I thanked him for inspiring me.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I will help you stay focused.  I will help you enjoy your experience.  I will help you achieve your goal.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Relax and run the way you’ve trained.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

When I’m not running in them, I enjoy volunteering at races.  I also volunteer to help recent, or soon-to-be college graduates develop job search tools.
