Why do you run?

 

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, socialize with fellow runners and enjoy the competitive nature of a race.

Describe your best marathon memory.

 

Crossing the finish line in the 2010 Bayshore Marathon with a sub-3 hr marathon...such a thrill.

Why do you pace?

 

I enjoy encouraging other runners to do their best.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

 

I trained two first-time marathoner women to run Bayshore and when they completed the race, we hugged and shared a few tears,,.a very emotional experience that I’ll never forget.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

 

I have a good sense of humor and enjoy fun conversation and pushing a team to achieve their goal.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

 

Stick with the skinny guy (me) and you’ll have a great time!!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am very proud of my Boston marathon running wife (Jan) and marathon sons (Nick and Blake).

 

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Dearborn Animal Shelter and Springfed Arts
