A quotation you like…

Be somebody that nobody thought you could be. -Unknown

Why do you run?

I used to be overweight with really low self-confidence.  Running helped me get in shape which in turn boosted my confidence.  It makes me a better version of me that also believes I can accomplish anything

Describe your best marathon memory.

When I first broke 3 hours I crossed the finish line and just started crying.  It was a goal that took about 6 years to realize.  Other than that my last marathon was also a great memory setting a new personal best with many of my family members cheering me into the finish line.

Why do you pace?

I just want to help other accomplish their goals.  As I mentioned before, running has changed my life and I want to pay it forward.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

I have actually paced my brother a couple times.  I really enjoy pulling back my own pace and focusing on the effort of others…helping to motivate and distract them.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I want to make the marathon and experience while also getting people to their goals.  I have run 30 marathons so I have stories for days and I think that will be a good distraction for all.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Just stay in the moment.  It is easy to look ahead in a marathon and get down on yourself for how much you still have left to run.  Keep giving yourself little pep-talks that keep you in the moment and not worrying about the road ahead.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Run like animals!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I volunteer at my church with the youth.  I also have also done several years of volunteer coaching at the high school and middle school level in cross country and track.  I really enjoy working with the younger generation…helping them reach their goals and mentoring.
