Why do you run?
|
I love how it gets me away from everything; how I can experience
all of the seasons and be with people just talking or not; it is definitely a
stress reliever and has opened the door to many friendships

Why do you pace?
|
I love cheering people on but also being part of the action
instead of on the side lines

Why should someone run
in your pace group?
|
I’m the best cheerleader there is. I love to talk, have been running for
years, know the course and a lot of people so I’ll get others to cheer you on
too1

Any tips for runners
about to join your group?
|
Stay relaxed and think of the day as just another experience you
will be able to talk about for years to come.

Anything else you’d
like to share?

I am no longer just a runner having run for 30+ years. I started biking and swimming 4 years ago
and LOVE the variety that triathlon training and competing provide. I did my first and last Ironman in Madison
in 2008 and placed 2nd in my age group. It was such a fun day – coming across the
finish line after 12 hours and 9 minutes and hearing them say “Shirley
Crocker you are an IronMan was totally amazing!”
