A quotation you like…

“The body can achieve what the mind believes”.

Why do you run?

Running is therapeutic and it is my happy place. I love to challenge myself and it is amazing how much the body can do when I put my mind to it.

Describe your best marathon memory.

My first marathon at Disney I experienced severe cramping around 21. I had to decide if I was going to quit or keep moving. I decided to keep moving and I crossed the finish line. It was the most mentally tough I’ve ever been, and it truly displayed I can do anything if I just believe.

Why do you pace?

I love to motivate and encourage people. It is gratifying to help others in the running community to reach their running goals.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

I wanted to hit a PR at a 15k race, so I decided to stay in front of the 9:30 pacer. I was able to stay in front of the 9:30 pacer the entire race. It was the first time I utilized a pacer to help me reach a running goal. It was at that moment I truly appreciated and understood the value that pacers bring to a race.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

Runners will feel encouraged and supported. Also, runners will know that I am out there for them to help them meet their running goals.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

If you must stop and walk it’s okay, it’s always wise to listen to your body. Always have fun and enjoy the journey of the race!

Anything else you’d like to share?

Becoming a pacer has been one of my running goals and I am happy that this goal has been achieved!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I am an Ambassador for Black Girls Run in Tampa, FL. I dedicate my time by co-hosting quarterly running events, meeting up will fellow run groups members, and always providing encouragement, motivation, and support to members in our running community.
