Why do you run?

In 1971, I was born with deformed legs and feet that were in casts. I didn’t walk till I was 4 years old. I run to show others it’s not how you start out it’s how you finish.

Describe your best marathon memory.

2023 Philadelphia Love Run Half Marathon. I paced the 1:55:00 group. I finished and saw a girl crying next to the pacing tent. I thought she needed a medic. She said no I just ran a Sub 2 hour half because of you. This is why I pace. To give back to others.

Why do you pace?

Tell us your best pacing experience.

The same race as above. I brought in my friend Jo-Jo who had a goal of a sub 2 hour half. He finished in 1:59:23. Our run group was hugging him and high fiving him. I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I am consistent. I love the 1:55:00 pace group. It’s for those who want a sub 2 hour. It’s always possible. I like conversating with the runners and keep them focused.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Trust me you got this!!!
