Why do you run?

It clears my mind, chases away the blues, energizes me, and it's fun. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
I heard about the Bataan Memorial Death March while at a race with my dad. He is a WWII vet, and was wearing his Honor Flight gear. On the way home, I got a first hand history lesson and decided I needed to do this one. To be with so many veterans, many of them missing limbs, was awe-inspiring. My feet were a blistered mess, but thinking about the original men brought tears to my eyes, and motivated me on. It was more an emotional experience than a physical one, and I will never forget it. |
Why do you pace?
I know what it feels like to run out of steam and need encouragement. It makes me happy to help people meet their goals and cross the finish line. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
I got to help a lady with lupus cross the finish line on her knees. |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
I am supportive, encouraging, and fun. If this is your first race and you are unsure of yourself, this a good place to be. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Think positive. You can do this. |
