A quotation you like…

“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King

Why do you run?

I started running to meet my fitness goals but it has become an important part of my life, helping to reduce stress and a means of socializing with like minded friends!

Describe your best marathon memory.

I ran my second marathon with my daughter (it was her first marathon). There are many ups and downs over 26.2 miles but we kept each other going, finishing together, with our family members, including my Grandma (91 at the time) waiting to cheer us on at the finish line. I love that we accomplished it together.

Why do you pace?

Every single person who sets a goal to run a marathon has doubts about whether they can finish or do well. I had some amazing friends who encouraged and supported me as I trained, and I want to pay this gift forward. Anyone who commits to do the training can run a marathon.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I am an upbeat and positive person. I will run a consistent pace and help you to keep your head where it should be -- on finishing the mile we're on.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Trust your training, and nothing...NOTHING new on race day.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am a volunteer officer for Team Red, White and Blue (Team RWB), a non-profit organization which connects America's Veterans to their local community through physical and social activity. We do all sorts of exercise activities together, socialize and volunteer. I have never in my life met a more positive group of people. This group is inclusive to Veterans, Active Duty members and civilians equally. It's completely free of cost or obligation, and just within my own family my daughter and brother are volunteer leaders too. It's a really great group doing positive work at the local level.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Aside from my work with Team RWB, I have been a volunteer officer with the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Florida Chapter, for six years (leaving that position so I could do more work with Team RWB). With Team RWB we have supported our local Veteran's Nursing Homes, local races and triathlons and the Stand Down for Homeless Veterans, just to name a few.
