A quotation you like… |
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” -Walt Disney- |
Why do you run? |
I run for fun, for a challenge, for companionship, for motivation, for personal achievement, for satisfaction, and to feel good. |
Describe your best marathon memory. |
Running down Boylston street in 2016, and seeing my parents in the crowd, being able to wave at them and share the joy of finishing my first Boston Marathon. |
Why do you pace? |
I pace because I love helping other people achieve personal goals and satisfaction, and being able to combine my love of running with that, makes pacing one of the best gigs out there. |
Tell us your best pacing experience. |
Lincoln 2017 was absolutely brutal in terms of weather, and a lot of people, myself included, had a very hard day. I came up on a woman in the last 1.5 miles; it was her very first marathon. I stuck with her, encouraged her, bargained with her on when to walk (under the bridges in the shade!!!), and watched her take off to the finish with a time of just under 4 hours. The hug I got at the end of that, and the thanks for sticking with her, and encouraging her, was the best reward I could have gotten. |
Why should someone run in your pace group? |
I love to see how I can help someone to their goals, and I will do my absolute best to make sure I keep you entertained, informed, and on track for said goal. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group? |
I follow my pace band splits, so I will start off slower and build to goal pace within the first 2 miles. I slow down a bit through the water stops to take advantage of the water and Gatorade. I also like to sightsee as I run, so feel free to “show me the sights” as we venture along! |
