Why do you run?

For my mental health. Running provides me with the ultimate stress relief tool.

Describe your best marathon memory.

I was running the Austin Marathon and was on course for a sub 5 finish, but towards the end  the hills got the best of this Florida boy. By mile 21, I had almost completely given up on even finishing. By mile 22, I realized that I could walk the remaining miles and still finish the race in the cutoff time. By the time I hit mile 25, I began running intervals again and was able to finish upright and with a smile on my face. After I crossed the finish line and stopped my watch I started to choke up because I realized I had just PR’d by five full minutes.

Why do you pace?

Pacing provides me an opportunity to give something back to a sport that I have gotten so much from. I enjoy helping other athletes achieve their goals, especially runners trying to finish their first marathon or half.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

My first time pacing I was surrounded by people with truly inspirational stories. Helping them achieve their goals was incredibly rewarding.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

We take care of all the stress on race day! We will keep you running consistent miles, keep track of your intervals (Galloway method), and get you to the finish line. All you have to do is show up and run!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Get ready to relax, enjoy the course, and take everything in.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I have raised money for Autism Speaks and Central Florida CARD through charity bibs for races. Two organizations that are very dear to me personally.  I also regularly volunteer at Central Florida Buddy Ball, an organization that allows children of all abilities the opportunity to play little league baseball.
