Why do you run?
Love the ‘high’ feeling of getting 10 miles in before getting to work on Friday morning! |
Describe your best marathon memory.
My first Boston was a sunny warm day, and I was on a schedule. Stayed in the ‘burbs, finished to a good time, met family in the park, then walked to my daughter’s MIT dorm floor for a shower before catching a 5pm flight home. |
Why do you pace?
It is my way of promoting the sport. My first ½ marathon, I didn’t know about pacers. Encountered one during the run who encouraged me to keep up - he pulled me along and I didn’t get to thank him! |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
In Chicago 2018, my pacer partner and I started getting whoever was around us to ‘commit’ to pushing the last ¾ mile. The energy in the chute was fantastic! |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
Face it, running with a group is ‘fun’! We’ll nail the pace, generate some conversational distractions, and teach each other! |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
Trust your training! When you get late in the race and your form sags, straighten up and regain the form you had at mile 1. |
