A quotation you like…

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved."
Helen Keller, (1880-1968)

Why do you run?

I run because I lost 2 of the most important women in my life to serious illness. I am thankful for my health and the ability to move without pain – at least most of the time ;) I also think it helps me keep a level head; gives me time to get away from all the noise of life and think things through. And talking to my friends without my kids interrupting isn’t a bad plus either.

Describe your best marathon memory.

My fellow “5AM running buddy” joining me at mile 23 to help get me through 88 degrees in the Poconos!

Why do you pace?

I have had many people meet where I am at and encourage me to accomplish whatever it was I had put my mind to.  I feel that is a privilege to encourage someone to reach a goal.  I would like to be able to support someone in the way that others have been there for me.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I consider myself a positive person and I enjoy conversation, which may or may not be a plus for you!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

No complaining allowed…I think you can find something positive to think about  in ANY situation

What philanthropic activities do you have?

Girls on the Run assistant coach; coordinating church ministries
