A quotation you like…

“What does not kill you, makes you stronger!”

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12:1

Why do you run?

For sanity! It is cheaper than retail therapy and is great “adult” time with friends.  (Most of my time is spent homeschooling two growing kids.)  On solo runs, I really like to listen to great music and enjoy being outside.

Describe your best marathon memory.

I absolutely loved meeting up with a friend at mile 25(we had run the first 14 miles together) of Richmond Marathon and finishing on the downhill stretch with our hands lifted together!

Why do you pace?

I love to hear the stories from other runners of their adventures, seeing people meet their goals, because I have had great experiences with fun pacers and pace groups are where all the fun happens at marathons.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

My best pacing experience was when I was being paced.  My pacer told us early on that we could all talk for the first 20 miles, but after that we should use our energy to run and she would do the talking.  She kept us entertained and we all met our goals.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

Someone should run with me because I guarantee that we will have fun and the miles with just fly by without them worrying about the pace. I want you to be successful.  You have an automatic cheerleader.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Make sure to bring your favorite race nutrition and know we will always make time for water stops. Know that I want you to meet your goal just as much as you do.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I think runners are probably the nicest people on the planet.  Also, running is fun to me, when it stops being fun I won’t do it anymore.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I am a volunteer Cross Country coach for the Greenville Hurricanes (the kids inspire me more than I inspire them). I also really enjoy working with the kids at my church on Sunday mornings.
