Why do you run?
To stay sane and fit and mentally prepared for what the world tosses my way. To make new friends. To share a passion. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
It’s a toss up between the last mile of my personal best marathon, when I knew I had run a negative split and a 10 minute PR, or pacing my girlfriend to her personal best by 6 minutes. |
Why do you pace?
I was paced to my first BQ by a fantastic pacer at California International Marathon, and to my half-marathon PR by a local Eugene team. I understand the value of setting an even pace. I also understand the value of letting someone else do the mental work, of being able to draft off of someone's energy, and the value of running in a group. Of naming your aches and pains so that others don't think they are the only ones who hurt. |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
Watching someone running proudly and pushing the pace to the finish line to achieve their goal. |

Why should someone run in your pace group?

It’s all about you, baby! |
