|
|
Why do you run? |
To stay fit and for the social aspect and it is also “my time” in the day, no interruptions. I love to stargaze &/or watch the sunrise during my early morning runs. |
|
Describe your best marathon memory. |
PR’ing at the Wineglass marathon! The start line of the NYC marathon was
also a thrill - hearing Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” blast through the loudspeakers
as the marathon began gave me goosebumps |
|
Why do you pace? |
It gives me personal satisfaction to help others achieve their goals,
and the opportunity to travel out of town and experience new venues |
|
Tell us your best pacing experience. |
Pittsburgh Marathon 2009, where I helped several people complete their first marathon AND came within 3 seconds of a perfect finish. |
|
Why should someone run in your pace group? |
We will have plenty of conversation which will make the miles pass more quickly. I will lock in the pace early on and take that burden off of you, and get you to the finish line on time. We work together - - there is strength in numbers! |
|
Any tips for runners about to join your group? |
Don’t be shy, jump in and introduce yourself. |
|
Anything else you'd like to share? |
I am proud to be an inspiration to my daughters, both of whom became
cross country junkies in 7th grade, and continued their running
habits into high school and beyond. I signed up for my first marathon after being
persuaded over lots of wine at a wedding at 40…remember, age is just a
number! |
