A quotation you like… |
“I'm going to work so that it's a pure guts race at the end, and if it is, I am the only one who can win it.” – Steve Prefontaine |
Why do you run? |
I run to be healthy, to be a good role model, to relieve stress and see how much I can push my limits. |
Describe your best marathon memory. |
At the 2010 Wineglass Marathon, my first. I was part of the 3:10 pace group and ended up finishing in 3:09:11, enough to register for my first Boston Marathon. I wouldn’t have made it without the pacer. |
Why do you pace? |
I pace because I love helping others. My pacer helped me out so much at Wineglass that I wanted to “pay it forward” to others. |
Tell us your best pacing experience. |
At the 2016 Erie Marathon at Presque Isle. I paced the 3:05 group, and ended up pacing one of the overall woman in to the finish line. |
Why should someone run in your pace group? |
I tell great jokes. I provide good advice to keep people on target, to loosen up periodically, and tips on how to have a successful water stop experience. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group? |
Come prepared to do your best. Racing is mostly mental, and I’ll do what I can to motivate you to push your limits and succeed in your goals. |
Anything else you’d like to share? |
I love running and I’m a student of the sport. I’m also a certified running coach through USATF and the Road Runners Club of America. |
What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I volunteer to help with a distance training program at a local running store and donate to fundraisers and disaster relief efforts. |
