Why do you run?
Running literally saved my life, when I had no hope, no joy, no love, I could always go running and sadly for a long time in my life it was the only thing that I was proud of. |
Describe your best marathon memory.
My very first marathon, I was morbidly obese, very little training, and a fractured foot, I was determined to not quit, not give up on myself like I have for my entire life. That day it took me 7:17.00 for me to prove to myself that I can do hard things |
Why do you pace?
It is a chance for me to give back, running is such a selfish sport unless you are a pace setter, then you are there to help others reach their goal, to help them reach their dreams. Plus I really like medals and T-shirts |
Tell us your best pacing experience.
I have had a few opportunities to sweep a races and it’s the back of the pack, the first timers, the dreamers, those are the ones who stand out the most to me. I had one young lady after a very long race say that because of me, she didn’t give up |
Why should someone run in your pace group?
I love to talk and motivate people, To tell stories and to do my best to distract as runners find out what it means to run through the suck |
Any tips for runners about to join your group?
You’ve done the training; you’ve put in the miles. Today is race day, you’ve earned this day, now make sure you enjoy it! Your medal is waiting for you at the finish line |
