Personal goals

I really want to run a 3:10 marathon

A quotation you like…

“If you don’t like the situation, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude” The beautiful MayaAngelou

Why do you run?

Running builds my confidence, it challenges me, it holds me accountable, it gives me a rush. And the results are the bonus’ that keep me at it.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Oh wow, I honestly can’t pick just one. I love the marathon and the months leading up to it. I don’t listen to music, instead I take in the course and the people and every single marathon is an out of body experience for me. Where else can we feel so alive but when we run 26.2 miles with thousands of friends?  =)

Why do you pace?

I love to help others reach their goals. It’s important to know you’re not alone in your goal that someone is there to help keep you fighting to reach that time you set for yourself.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I’m extremely positive and I truly care for others. My entire mission in life is to see others succeed. As a personal trainer, Volunteer (VA and community), and mother to four, I thrive on seeing positive success in others.

We will all end up best friends after our 26.2 mile bonding party =)

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Believe in yourself. Train hard…train very hard. Then, come race day, don’t doubt your abilities, your training and especially yourself. The will to succeed is in all of us. And never, ever, underestimate the power of positive thinking when it comes to running a marathon. Leave any doubt behind.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’m a very proud mother to four beautiful and great kids.

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I’m a very active volunteer at the VA hospital. I am also the Athletic Director to the nonprofit I volunteer for on a constant basis. As the sole owner of my small personal training business, I train a client in need for free, as finances should never be the reason one can’t get fit. True happiness comes from doing what you love, not by how much you get paid =)
