A quotation you like… |
We first make our habits and then our habits make us. |
Why do you run? |
To be a better version of myself. |
Describe your best marathon memory. |
Qualifying for the 2018 Boston Marathon at the Steamtown Marathon (2016). Finishing and knowing I trained properly, crushed my PR, and left everything I had on the course. |
Why do you pace? |
I love people and am inspired by their stories and strength |
Tell us your best pacing experience. |
Every race is my best experience, but I gotta say I love helping people finish their first race or accomplish a PR. The absolute best is receiving a message of appeciation days after the race from someone you helped. |
Why should someone run in your pace group? |
I am always prepared for the course, run with consistent effort, and remain enthusiastic every step of the race. |
Any tips for runners about to join your group? |
Relax, trust your training, and enjoy the experience! Race day is a celebration of what you have accomplished through hours of hard work and training. |
Anything else you’d like to share? |
I believe everyone has a story and that anything is possible. At age 39 I had never run a race of any kind, was overweight, and suffered from high blood pressure and anxiety. Five years later, I am now 44, and I have lost 100 pounds, run 12 marathons and numerous ultra marathons, and qualified for the 2018 Boston Marathon. If I can do that, I believe you can too! |
What philanthropic activities do you have? |
I am a volunteer at Tim Tebow’s” Night to Shine” special needs prom, provide motivational talks with local school and youth groups, and lead a student group called “Kratos” to engage at risk students in physical fitness. Lastly, in Jan of 2016 I served on a week long mission trip to Mexico to lead orphans in adventure and fitness activities. |
