A quotation you like…

We first make our habits and then our habits make us.

Why do you run?

To be a better version of myself.

Describe your best marathon memory.

Qualifying for the 2018 Boston Marathon at the Steamtown Marathon (2016).  Finishing and knowing I trained properly, crushed my PR, and left everything I had on the course.

Why do you pace?

I love people and am inspired by their stories and strength

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Every race is my best experience, but I gotta say I love helping people finish their first race or accomplish a PR.  The absolute best is receiving a message of appeciation days after the race from someone you helped.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I am always prepared for the course, run with consistent effort, and remain enthusiastic every step of the race.

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

Relax, trust your training, and enjoy the experience!  Race day is a celebration of what you have accomplished through hours of hard work and training.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I believe everyone has a story and that anything is possible.  At age 39 I had never run a race of any kind, was overweight, and suffered from high blood pressure and anxiety.  Five years later, I am now 44, and I have lost 100 pounds, run 12 marathons and numerous ultra marathons, and qualified for the 2018 Boston Marathon.  If I can do that, I believe you can too!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I am a volunteer at Tim Tebow’s” Night to Shine” special needs prom, provide motivational talks with local school and youth groups, and lead a student group called “Kratos” to engage at risk students in physical fitness.  Lastly, in Jan of 2016 I served on a week long mission trip to Mexico to lead orphans in adventure and fitness activities.
