A quotation you like…

Always earned, never given.

Why do you run?

I like to run for myself. The mental clarity and the ability to keep pushing myself to accomplish hard things is invaluable.

Describe your best marathon memory.

The final 2 miles of the 2022 Pittsburgh Marathon. The end of this race was filled with the crowd support of all of my friends who had seen me through the training for this marathon. It was the hardest two miles I’ve ever ran, but the most fulfilling.

Why do you pace?

I want to set a new goal for myself in running. I love racing and I want to give back to those accomplishing their goals.

Tell us your best pacing experience.

Why should someone run in your pace group?

I am a leader in many capacities. I work as an elementary school teacher, so I am used to leading groups of students. I am often in meeting with groups of parents, staff, and students, so I am used to being under pressure and in large groups of people. I am positive when working in groups and loud!

Any tips for runners about to join your group?

I have been the runner in a pace group before. I know how important the pacer can be in keeping people on track to accomplish their race goals.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I love running and the running community. I have found myself in my runs. I am excited for each opportunity to get out there and do what I love!

What philanthropic activities do you have?

I am a have run the Pgh Marathon as a charity runner for Light of Life Rescue. I am a leader in my kids’ Girl Scout Troop. I am a community activist working to prompt equity and equality.
