Why do you run?
|
So many reasons. I love how it makes me feel alive, stronger than I believed possible, and capable of anything. I love the feeling of being able to run great distances without tiring and the feeling of pushing through when you do tire. I run to find out what I’m made of, to discover who I truly am and to dig deep. I love the confidence it gives me and working to achieve new goals. I also love food! |

Describe your best marathon memory.
|
My best marathon memory is not my PR – it’s a race I did too soon after my first marathon and it was with my now husband. I had to stop due to injury at the 18 mile mark and he saw me on a loop when he was ahead and stopped with me and walked/ran the whole rest of the way laughing and joking with me when I was in pain in the pouring rain |

Why do you pace?
|
The only thing better than achieving your goals is helping someone to achieve theirs. My favorite is pacing someone that is a first timer and watching them fall in love with running like I have. Having others around me that share my passion is incredible and I love to be that someone they can count on. |

Why should someone run in your pace group?
|
I don’t normally run with music and have read so many motivational running books that my entire inner dialogue is positive mantras so that will come out when I pace! I am happy to chat while running but also happy with silence, whatever feels right to you. I have experience running so can help with any questions or anxiety. I also have had a bad experience with a pacer before and I am determined to never let that happen to anyone I pace! |

Any tips for runners about to join your group?
|
Consistency is key! Stick to the plan for at least ¾ of the race, and then if you are feeling great, push from there. Start easy and fall into the rhythm. Break it up into sections in your mind and tackle one at a time. |

Anything else you’d like to share? |
Number one goal for all races/racers: have a positive attitude throughout and finish happy.
